We are located in Chalabre, a medieval village in the foothills of the mediterranean Pyrenees in the very south of France - a region of stunning beauty and fascinating history. We have been hosting vegan wellness retreats since 2013 and are known for our sensational food and warm welcome.
When we are not hosting or preparing for retreats, yogis, meditators and those looking to unwind may stay in residence for 3 nights or more to explore this magical part of France, or simply to relax and rejuvenate.
When you come and stay here with us at the Lounge, you'll encounter short periods of silence each day. Remaining internal like that is a really beautiful way to recharge, to spend time with yourself, and to practice clear, compassionate investigation of exactly what our inner voice is saying, how it compels us into "unconscious" action, and how it is affecting our outer reality. It forms a key part of any mindfulness practice.
When you come to stay in-between retreats, yoga practice is purely optional, but we do observe morning silence from rising until 10am each day. On our retreats, we remain silent from dinner until lunch the next day.
The retreats are suitable for those new to yoga or meditation and those already proficient.
When we are not hosting formal retreats, we invite yogis, meditators and those interested to stay for 3 nights or more. Choose from breakfast only, or half-board. Retreat, relax and rejuvenate without the hold of a formal retreat.
To get here, fly to Carcassonne (RyanAir) or Toulouse (EasyJet, BA, Air France).

Gertrud on yoga: “My yoga is gloriously feminine, chaotic and alive with connection. It reaches for the light in the earth, our source, our nourishment. Physically, it builds strength in the hips, the legs and the back. Bringing to us a sense of support, of being held....”; and on food: “We develop little unconscious rituals wherever we go. The things we eat, how and what kind of food we prepare. The kind of ingredients we buy. To become mindful of those rituals, and to cut out the ones that no longer serve us, is a really good exercise. …”
