In times of hardship truthful, productive and non-ego driven reflection often seems impossible to achieve. In the moment of crisis, most of us react purely from an automatic, emotive place, and are unable to fully process or reflect before taking action or forming negative opinions.
In light of today's international political events, the temptation is of course to give our power away; to vote, thinking that the politicians will change things.
Ancient wisdom sciences tell us otherwise: reality arises from within. This means that the outside is a reflection of our inner state and change can only be effected from within.
Waiting for Hilary, Donald, Nigel, Theresa or Boris to fix it is therefore FUTILE.
The good news, then, is:
We can change what's going on around us simply by starting at home: take time to reflect, find our inner core, and come to an understanding of the true nature of reality. And from there, every step and action we take, will be one that changes the world.
Here are two things we can start doing straight away:
- Eat meat no more than once a week, or transition fully to a plant-based diet (the biggest greenhouse gas polluter is the dairy and beef industry) Get inspired and Explore our vegan food here.
- Take time out to breathe, meditate, reflect and move, even just 10 minutes a day. Minds and bodies less stressed will manifest more calm and clarity. (20 reasons why meditation is good for you.)
The world is beautiful. This means there is plenty of beauty inside of us.
We have the power to bring it forth.
